The ocean is also calmest then for snorkeling. If possible, avoid midday for the hike as it can get hot. The rainy season (December–March) brings muddy trails and occasional park closures. Komodo Island is only accessible by boat from Labuan Bajo. It’s roughly a 1–2 hour ride, depending on the boat. Most day tours and multi-day cruises include Komodo Island on their itinerary. After the trek and any snorkeling, boats will pick you up again to continue the tour.

• Beach Relaxation: After trekking, unwind on Pantai Merah’s warm pink sands. The gentle slope and clear water here are perfect for a refreshing swim.
